1st Hole (The Burrows)
The first hole, named The Burrows at Laytown & Bettystown is a 322-yard par 4. The ideal line off the tee is right centre of this undulating fairway. Drivable by the longer hitter with a favourable wind but a miss left, right or long of this green can come at a heavy price. Accuracy is the key to the approach shot. The front left of the green is protected by a pot bunker.

2nd Hole (The Strand)
The second hole (The Strand) is a 304-yard par 4 which runs parallel with the beach and the boundary fence of the course. A decision has to be made to either lay up or drive into the valley short of this elevated green. An approach shot from the valley requires a delicate touch. The green is protected by a bunker on the right front side.

4th Hole (Bottleneck)
The 4th hole (Bottleneck). A straight tee shot is ideal on this medium length par 5. There are a number of bunkers down both the left and right hand side of the fairway. Your second shot is blind but there is a large disc visible at the back center of the green. Aim slightly right of the disc with your approach as the ground falls from right to left. However, cross the dunes to the right up the second half of the fairway and your ball will fall sharply down hill and away from the fariway. A real birdie opportunity for the long straight hitter but beware of any complacency.

The two bunkers on the right side of the fairway are hidden from view from the tee. The stronger hitter may well be advised to lay up off the tee to leave a full shot into this green. Your approach shot will be all carry to the front of the green and plays its full yardage. Consider hitting an extra club is never a bad idea.

Trouble lurks left and right of a fairway with a pot bunker in its center. Your 2nd shot is to a slightly elevated green with a bunker protecting the right side. A good test.

16th Hole (Dove Cottage)
The 16th hole (Dove Cottage) is a 388 yard par 4. A gentle dog leg right but a difficult driving hole. The Tee shot is deceptive, don't be drawn towards the right as there is plenty of room on the left from the tee once you avoid the hidden bunker that can catch you out. The green is well protected left and right by steep bunkers that frames a beautiful approach to this classic links hole.
